Well, we've just finished up
the supported weekend at the Turkey Cluster and, by all accounts, it was our
most successful ever. The entries were phenomenal, the prizes were well received, and we had
record numbers of folks turn out for the lunch and auction. A small army made this weekend
so successful and deserve kudos.
Cheryl Beach was our match chair and pulled together a very fun event
with help from husband Buzz, Dawn Buttion, and Sandy Bulger. It was great
to see all those puppies and veterans warming up for the supported. Deb
Brady was my co-chair for the main event on Saturday and calmly and
quietly kept me sane by seeing to it that all the bases were covered. Big thanks to
Linda Reynolds for stepping in as Hospitality Chair; once again, we got
compliments on the "spread". Tina Borden with help from Eric Hedrick
and Colin Archambeault saw to it that everyone got their trophies and prizes. (editor's note:
Thanks go to our individual trophy sponsors, Jane Boraczek and Cliff Williams for providing historic FCR prints,
cuddly ducks and tennis balls for our competitors)
Jeanne Lin and Bernie Strozeski helped to take cash and settle
up the auction. And the ones who always get forgotten at these events...Richard Street
and Cliff Williams helped to take care of everything that Deb and I needed to
have happen.
After every CRFCRC event I am heartened by the generosity and dedication of our membership...so,
you would think that it would be hard to floor me. But I have to say that the donations of food and
auction items as well as the generous bidding this year has me awestruck. We had a record number of
auction/raffle items donated and record earnings from that part of the event. This would not have
happened without the tremendous philanthropy of our club members and I can not thank you all enough.
