INFORMAL FIELD DAY
Rover's Content, Cheltenham, Maryland
(Directions Below)
SUNDAY– March 30, 2008
Hours: 9:00 AM til 3:00 PM
(please show up at 8:30 to help set up).
Cost: $10/first dog; $5 for each additional dog. No more than 3 dogs per handler
CRFCRC club members are welcome to gather for informal field training at Rover's Content on Sunday, March 30th from
9am to 3pm.
Please sign-up by emailing Jim Belivieu jim@victoryretrievers.com.
Limit is 40 dogs. CRFCRC members and PVGRC members will get first preference. We'll open it up if we don't fill from these groups.
We plan on having two set-ups for this event, one for novice handlers and one for advanced. Additionally, Judy Gladson has volunteered to work with
puppies or very green people for an hour or so around noon-time, if there's interest. When you sign up, please give Jim
an indication of your experience level and numbers of dogs you'd like to run at each level.
During the day you must take a turn working "in the field" through a process of rotation so please bring a lunch and plan to stay the day and help
set-up, breakdown and clean up. Dogs will run on bumpers only. Bring water for your dog(s) and dress appropriately for the weather.
Don't forget a chair, ear protection, duck call, whistles, etc. If you can provide equipment, i.e., blinds, shot guns/pistols, decoys, tossers,
or additional birds for training please note that when signing-up.
Directions:
From Washington, DC and points north: Take Crain Highway (US 301) south. Look for the Veterans cemetary on the right. Turn left when the cemetery is
onto Cherry Tree Crossing Road. Cross the railroad tracks (active!) and turn right (still on Cherry Tree Crossing Road). Follow road about one tenth
of a mile to the entrance on your left (look for signs). If you cross the railroad tracks again, you went too far!
