December 1999

12/10/99 - 12/12/99 Quillquest Band Plays On, "Bogey," had a very good weekend at the shows in Winston-Salem, NC!
- 12/10 Best of Winners at Forsyth Kennel Club
- 12/11 Best of Winners at Forsyth Kennel Club
- 12/12 Best of Winners at Carolina Kennel Club
Bogey is owned by Jane Brumley & was handled by Lori Pauley

12/04-12/05 At the NAHRA Benefit in Cheltenham, MD.
- Ch SR U-CD Blazin's Back O' The Moon CD JH WC CGC, "Cosmo" finished his Started Hunting Retriever (SR) title with a Brass Band Award, wrapping up the fall season with 8 consecutive hunt test passes and 4 agility legs. Cosmo is owned by Melody Daniels, Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault and handled by Melody.

Congratulations to Janet and Cary Ciarico and Risa and Bailey on their wins!

12/04-12/05 At the NAHRA Benefit in Cheltenham, MD.
11/27-11/28 At the Chesapeake KC & Upper Marlboro KC shows in West Friendship, MD.

- SR Rainbow Autumn's First Frost JH WC CGC, "Risa" capped off her year in style with two outstanding weekends!! First, Risa won back-to-back majors at the Chesapeake KC and Upper Marlboro KC shows on Thanksgiving weekend, going WB/BW at Saturday's CRFCRC Fall Supported for a 5 point major and WB/BW/BOS on Sunday for a 4 point major, earning the first 9 points towards her Championship title. Then the very next weekend she earned back-to-back NAHRA Started Retriever legs to finish up her SR title and earn a Brass Band Award!! That makes 3 field titles in 7 months for Risa. We are very proud of our girl!!
- SR SR Aspengrove Adk Mr Prsonality CDX JH WC CGC, "Bailey" picked up his final Started Retriever leg on Saturday at the NAHRA Benefit to earn his SR title. Not to be outdone by his little sister, Bailey has earned 3 titles this year as well and we are so very proud of his hard work and accomplishments!!
Bailey and Risa are owned, trained, handled, loved, and spoiled by Cary and Janet Ciarico.

October 1999

10/30/99 At the Susquehanna Retriever Club in Cheltenham, MD.
- Ch U-CD Blazin's Back O' The Moon CD JH WC CGC, "Cosmo" earned his fourth Junior Hunter leg for the JH title. This is Cosmo's 4th leg in 4 tests in October!! Cosmo is owned by Melody Daniels, Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault and handled by Melody.

Congratulations to Helenmary and Neal Cody and Beckett on their new champion title!

10/30/99 At the Middleburg KC in Leesburg, VA.
- CH Victory's Beck And Call NA NAJ CGC, "Beckett" earned her Championship by winning WB/BW & BOB over several specials for her 3rd major!! Beckett is owned by Neal and Helenmary Cody and Mark and Judy Delventhal and was handled by Judy and Helenmary.

Congratulations to Al Jenkins and Katie on their new obedience title!

10/23/99 At the Upper Potomac Valley Kennel Club in Cumberland, MD.
- SR Lyric's Kay CD JH WCX CGC TDI, "Katie" earned her third leg in Novice to qualify for the CD title. Their performance was strong enough to earn a 2nd Place finish in Novice A! Katie is owned, trained and handled by Al Jenkins of Claymore Retrievers

10/17/99 At the Williamsport Dog Training Club Agility Trial:

- Aspengrove Adk Mr Prsonality CDX JH WC CGC "Bailey", handled by Cary, earned his first novice agility leg. Cary and Bailey had a clean run and finished the course 20 seconds under time, to win 3rd place! Bailey is owned and loved by Cary and Janet Ciarico.

10/16/99 At the Catonsville KC show in West Friendship, MD:

- CH Blazin's Carpe Diem JH WCX CGC "Dino", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Dawn Buttion, won Best of Breed and Group 4 under James White. This is Dino's 6th Group Placement under 6 different judges.

10/09-10/10 At the Mount Vernon Dog Training Club and Capital Dog Training Club Obedience Trials in Alexandria, VA:

- SR Lyric's Kay JH WCX CGC TDI, "Katie", got her first CD leg and High-Scoring Flat-Coated-Retriever in trial. She got her second leg the following day at the Capital Dog Training Club trial. Katie was trained and handled by her owner, Al Jenkins.

July 1999

7/24 - 7/25/99 At the Central NY Ret Club hunt test:

- CH Hy-Tymes Virginia Reel CDX SH AX WCX HOF, "Ginnie", gave an awesome performance for her first Master Hunter leg!

- Ginnie's housemate, CH Hy-Tymes Victory Peter Pan CD MH AX OAJ WCX HOF, "Flyer", put in another stellar performance also for his 10th MH Leg. Flyer and Mark just don't want to quit!!

Ginnie and Flyer are owned and handled by with pride by Judy and Mark Delventhal.

Fred and Cyndy Gumbinner's Exotic Zorro's Mark, "Zoro", has had an excellent summer! Out of four shows, he brought home 10 points!:

- 1 point for Winners Dog at the Northern Maryland Kennel Club show on July 9,
- 2 points for Winners Dog at the Upper Marlboro Kennel Club show on July 10
- 3 points for Best of Winners at the Natioinal Capital Kennel Club show on July 11
- 4 points for Best of Breed at the York Kennel Club show on July 25

June 1999

6/26/99 At the Black Creek Retriever Club Hunt Test, West Berne, NY:

- Rainbow Autumn's First Frost *JH* WC CGC "Risa" , owned, trained, and loved by Cary & Janet Ciarico, and handled by Janet, finished her Junior Hunter title at the BCRC test. Finishing
in West Berne seemed particularly appropriate for Risa since last April Risa ran some of her first "real" marks at Partridge Run WMA while we were visiting in the Albany area and trained with BCRC members. Now its onto senior training!!

Big brother Bailey, Aspengrove ADK Mr Prsonality CD JH WC, who recently finished his JH title, was handled by Cary as test dog for the BCRC junior test. Bailey and Cary appreciated all the fun with none of the pressure<g>.

6/13/99 At the Rubber City KC show in Tallmadge, OH:

CH Blazin's Carpe Diem JH WCX CGC "Dino", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Dawn Buttion, won Best of Breed and made the final cut of 6 under Donald Booxbaum.

6/12/99 At the McKinley KC show in Canton, OH:

- CH Blazin's Carpe Diem JH WCX CGC "Dino", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Dawn Buttion, won Best of Breed and 2nd place in the Sporting Group

- Blazin's Doppelbock WC "Vita", owned by Scott & Tina Borden, handled by Scott, won Winners Dog and Best of winners for a 3 pt major.

6/5/99 At the MAFCRC WC/WCX test in Glasgow, DE:

- CH Lyric Queen of the Mountain CDX JH NA WCX CGC CAN CD WC, "Ravin", owned and handled by Dawn Buttion, earned her WCX at 9 years of age!

- Blazin Dunlin of Tidalflats WC, "Lin", owned by Jane Borazcek and Cliff Williams, handled by Cliff, earned her WC on her first attempt at 13 months of age!

6/4/99: At the Keystone Retriever Club test in Franklintown, PA:
Two Capital Region dogs finished their JH titles:

- CH Hillbrook Dory of Tidalflats CD JH WC, "Dory", handled by Cliff Williams.

- SR Whitland Hy Frequency WC JH, "Tiger", owned and handled by Laurie Stewart.

Despite the heat, both did a nice job! Dory went on to be the WC test dog
the next day at the MA- WC/WCX test; Tiger went on to place at the PVGRC
Singles challenge the next weekend.

CH Darktarn Neptune's Raven, "Raven", owned by M.Butsavage & J Brumley, finished
his Ch Mem Day weekend. Raven was only out 4 weekends & finished his Championship with 4 majors just past his first birthday!

May 1999

5/31/99 The 1999 CRFCRC's Spring Supported Entry in Williamsburg, VA

5/22/99 At the Mattaponi KC show:

- Aspengrove ADK Mr Prsonality CD *JH* WC, "Bailey", who finished his
Junior Hunter title in style at the Specialty in Rhode Island last
weekend, came home and "switched gears" as he and Janet took 4th place
in Open A, earning their 2nd CDX leg at the Mattaponi KC show. Mom and
Dad couldn't be more proud of their boy and all his hard work!!!

5/10-5/16/99 The 1999 FCRSA National Specialty in Warwick, RI

5/8/99 At the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac Field Test::

- Aspengrove ADK Mr Prsonality CD WC CGC "Bailey", adored by owner's Cary
and Janet Ciarico and handled by Janet, earned his 3rd JH leg at the Lab
Club test in Cheltenham, MD. Bailey would also like to congratulate his
buddies Tiger and Dory on their junior legs earned at the test and Flyer
on his very impressive qualifying Master run!

April 1999

4/24- 4/25/99 At the Tidewater RC - Back Bay Knotts RC Hunt Tests April 24-25:

- Aspengrove Adk Mr Prsonality CD WC CGC "Bailey" owned by Cary and Janet
Ciarico, and handled by Janet, earned his 2nd JH leg at the Back Bay
Knotts test on Sunday. He's doing a great job and we couldn't be more
proud!!

- Rainbow Autumn's First Frost WC CGC "Risa" is on a roll in the field,
qualifying in field tests for her 3rd weekend in a row!! This weekend,
she earned her first 2 JH legs. She loves her work and we're having a
great time!!!

4/24/99 At theOld Dominon Kennel Club in Leesburg VA:

- Blazin Dunlin of Tidalflats, "Lin", owned by Jane Borazcek and Cliff Williams,
handled by Dawn Buttion & Jane, won Winners Bitch, Best of Winners, & Best of
Opposite Sex for 2 points.

- Blazin's Doppelbock "Vita", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Tina, won Winners Dog

4/21/99 At the Warrenton KC Show in Fredericksburg, VA:

- CH Blazin's Carpe Diem JH WC CGC "Dino", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Dawn Buttion, won Best of Breed and 4th place in the Sporting Group

- Blazin's Doppelbock "Vita", owned by Scott & Tina Borden, won Winners Dog. Vita was handled with style by both Shirley Buttion and Dawn Buttion!

4/17 - 4/18/99 At the Blue & Gray Cluster in Harrisburg, PA:

- Blazin Dunlin of Tidalflats, "Lin", owned by Jane Borazcek and Cliff Williams, took back-to-back majors during her first weekend out this spring! She went WB and BW for a 4 point major on Saturday and WB for 3 more points on Sunday out of the 9-12 month class. Lin was amateurly handled by mom (i.e. Jane) to both wins.

(Editor's note: Lin's mom is actually an experienced, but modest, handler!)

4/16 - 4/18/99 CH Victory's Bravo Zulu JH NAC CGC WC, "Zu", owned by Kate and Chris Hutchinson, completed a Triple Crown Event in multiple locations!

1. Zu finished his Championship on Friday 4/16
2. He earned an Agility title on Saturday 4/17
3. He passed the WC Field test on Sunday 4/18

Congratulations to this multi-talented flat-coat and handlers Judy Delventhal and Kate Hutchinson!

4/18/99 At the Potomac Valley Golden Retriever Club WC/WCX test in Monrovia MD
All four Flat-Coats entered also qualified! Dogs, handlers and titles (in bold) are:

- Light-Foot's Eclipse CD JH WCX FDX, "Tanner", bred by S. Hope Meaker, handled by John Bulger.

- Windfalls Gore-Tex en Vouge WC, "Tess", bred by Mary Young, handled by Will Nuckols

- CH Victory's Bravo Zulu JH WC, "Zu", bred by Mark and Judy Delventhal, handled by Kate Hutchinson

- Rainbow Autums First Frost WC, "Risa", Bred by Lauren Weidner, handled by Janet Ciarico

- Rainbow Autumn's First Frost CGC "Risa", owned and loved by Cary and Janet Ciarico and handled by Janet, qualified in 2 back-to-back Started tests on April 10th to earn her first 2 legs (5 pts) towards her Started title.

- Aspengrove Adk Mr. Prsonality "Bailey" CD WC CGC, owned and loved by Cary and Janet Ciarico and handled by Janet, earned his 3rd Started leg. Only 1 more to title!!

March 1999

3/27/99 At the Del Bay Retriever Club hunt test:

- Aspengrove Adk Mr Prsonality CD WC CGC "Bailey", loved and owned by Cary
and Janet Ciarico, and handled by Janet, earned his first JH leg.
That's 1 down, and 3 to go!!

3/7/99 At the KC of Northern New Jersey show in Secaucus, NJ:

- CH Blazin's Carpe Diem JH WC CGC "Dino", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Dawn Buttion, won Best of Breed and made the cut in a Sporting Group with some dogs who have Best in Show titles behind them!

3/6/99 At the Mason Dixon KC Match in Hagerstown, MD:

- Rainbow Autumn's First Frost CGC "Risa", loved and owned by Cary and
Janet Ciarico, and handled by Janet, did a great job in her first
showing in the Open class, taking a Sporting Group 1 !!

February 1999

2/20/99 At the Annapolis KC show and 2/21/99 At the Maryland KC show in Baltimore Maryland:

- Victory's Bravo Zulu JH NAC CGC, "Zu", owned by Kate and Chris Hutchinson and expertly handled by Judy Delventhal, was Best of Winners and picked up his second major on
Saturday.
- On Sunday Zu went BOB, for a third major. Only one more point to go! Thanks Judy!

2/21/99 at the Greenville Kennel Club show in Greenville, S.C.

Darktarn Neptune Raven "Raven" 9 mo. old puppy owned by M.Butsavage and Jane
Brumley went WD for a 5 pt. major! He was handled by Lauri Pauley. He really knows how to impress Auntie Jane!

2/19/99 at the Hendersonville Kennel Club show in Greenville, S. C.:

Blazin's Cill Padraig CGC, "Jesse" went WD for a four point major.
Jesse was handled by his owner, Beth Garland, and we are proud of the them both!

2/6/99 - 2/7/99 At the Blue Ridge Agility Club NADAC Trials in North Carolina:

Victory's Bravo Zulu JH NAC CGC, "Zu", owned by Kate and Chris Hutchinson, handled by Kate, earned one Gamblers leg and THREE Regular legs to win his first agility title, NAC. He wowed his mom by earning 3 First Place ribbons! Zu received many compliments from the
large group of spectators who enjoyed watching "that pretty black dog what is it?" run his courses. Zu and Kate are looking forward to many more agility trials in their future - great F-U-N!!

January 1999

1/30/99 At the Northeastern Maryland Kennel Club match in Churchville, MD:

Allegro's Free Man in Paris, "Beau," owned by Linda and Mark Reynolds
and handled by Linda, got a Sporting Group 1.

Way to go, Beau!

1/24/99 At the Mohawk Valley KC show in Saratoga Springs, NY:

- CH Blazin's Carpe Diem JH WC CGC "Dino", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Scott, won Best of Breed.
