2000  12/9/2000 At the NAHRA
Benefit Working Retriever Test at Pintail Point in Queenstown, Maryland:
"Brook," SR Bertschire's Avalanche WC
CGC, owned by John and Sandy Bulger, handled by John, earned the title NAHRA Started
Retriever.
CH SR Lyric's Kay CD JH WCX CGC TDI, "Katie", and Al Jenkins helped
maintain a perfect pass rate for flat-coated retrievers in this test. Katie was one
of three flat-coats running that day, and all passed. This is Katie's second leg
toward her WR title with NAHRA. A deceptive water double separated the qualifiers
from the rest of the pack, but flat-coats, having their own way of doing the marks, had
little trouble.
November 2000
11/25 - 11/26 At the W. Springfield, Ma. agility trial:
Am/Can Ch Char-Will's Midnight Walker CDX MX
MXJ WC CGC Can CD,
"Brodie", completed his MX which gives him enough points for the Hall of
Fame! Brodie is proudly owned and handled by Valerie Johns; congratulations to this
pair!
Gillian and Quillquest Kennel have a list of brags to share!
Since the Specialty where she achieved her first CD leg,
Ubi completed the following: AM CD at Longshore/Sthport, Can CDX qualified 5 out of 6
shows in July and completed her Can JH the following week-end. She is now CH Quillquest
Xuberance CD JH WC CAN CDX JH WC, with one AM CDX leg at this time.
Wags achieved her first Master leg at Syracuse! She is CH
Quillquest Wendy's Wagtail SH WC Can JH WCI. She also finished her Can SH
title in Sept at the Can Specialty. Wags was handled by Gillian for her SH title leg and
by Jill for her Master leg
Gillian also handled the following dogs to new titles:
Winnie and Pip achieved their CD at the Springfield shows
in June, both qualifying 4 days out of 4. Both Winnie and Pip are veterans. (Pip being 10
1/2. Winnie is 8). Winnie is now AM/CAN CH Quillquest Phen's Born to Win JH CD WCX
Can JH WC. Pip is now CH Quillquest Lickety Split JH CD WC Can JH WC.
Dart, Faloncliffe Dark Delight JH WC CAN JH WCI,
qualified for her WCI in Canada at the Specialty in Sept.
Dina, CH Quillquest Dinamite WC,
achieved her WC at the PVGRC test in Sept. and also achieved the1st leg on her JH at Swamp
in Nov.
Tar, AM/CAN CH ALMANZA WET or DRY at PRAIRIELIGHT WC
CAN WCI JH achieved his WC at the PVGRC test in Sept.
Sparkle, Quillquest's Salute to Chrys WC,
achieved her WC at GSGRC in November at Collier's Mills.

11/12 At the Mid Atlantic Flat-Coated Retriever Club
Fun Match in Flanders, New Jersey:
"Piper",
Blazin's Enchanted Forest, won Best Puppy In Match under club member Judy
Delventhal! Later in the day Piper along with "Prue",
Blazin's Eternal Flame, won Best Litter In Match!!! These puppies were handled by
their proud Breeders and Owners, Dawn Buttion & Marty Archambeault.
11/11/2000 At the Tidewater HRC test in Amelia, VA:
CH SR Lyric's Kay CD JH WCX CGC TDI, "Katie", with owner/trainer/handler Al Jenkins
achieved their first mid-level hunting test leg! The test was a Working Retriever
test (land double, water double, water blind, quarter, trail). While they did
struggle through the water blind, a qualifying score was earned. Two weeks prior
they earned their Started Brass Band award from NAHRA by completing four Started level
tests in one calendar year. They also qualified for the NAHRA regional invitational
for 2001.
11/4/2000 At the Rock Creek KC All Breed
B-OB match in Gaithersburg, Maryland:
"Piper",
Blazin's Enchanted Forest, won Best In Match under Betsy Horn Humer!!! We are very
proud of Piper and will put her picture in the nice brass frame that she won. This
match did not separate puppies and adults so Piper had to act like a big dog! :)

- CH Blazin Dunlin of Tidalflats WC TDI, "Lin", qualified in back-to-back JH tests
(handled by her best buddy, Cliff). This was the first time she has ever run any AKC
tests and she came home with half the title. Lin

- CH Allegro's Free Man in Paris *JH* WC,
"Beau," had a fantastic weekend, qualifying
in back-to-back tests to finish his Junior Hunter title. Beau is owned by Mark and

9/9 At the Catoctin Kennel Club agility trial in
Frederick, MD:
CH SR U-CD U-AGI Blazin's Back O' The Moon CDX JH *OA*
WC CGC, "Cosmo", finished his Open Agility
title with a first place win -- and his 7th new title since Aug. 1999. Cosmo is owned by

Specialty -- Burlington, Ontario Canada:
We were thrilled to have the opportunity to attend the
Canadian Specialty this year and our dogs made it an extra special event for us! SR
Aspengrove ADK Mr Prsonality CDX JH NA NAJ WC **Can WC** CGC "Bailey" made his conformation debut in Canada,
showing in the veterans 7-8 class. We were so proud when Bailey took 2nd place in
his Sweepstakes class, and then took 2nd place in the regular veteran 7-8 male class as
well!!! (only to be beaten by his very handsome brother Am/Can Ch Aspengrove Petersfield
Micah JH WC NA owned by CRFCRC member Joyce Stewart). Bailey also participated in
the Parade of Veterans at the Specialty, and then topped his fun in the breed ring by
easily earning his Can WC title!!
Little sister CH SR Rainbow Autumn's First Frost JH WC **Can WC** CGC
"Risa" also made us very proud by taking 3rd
place from the large and competitive Open Bitch-Black class at the Specialty under English
Judge Denise Jury!! Then Risa had fun in the field adding the Can WC title to her
accomplishments!!

Southern Maryland Hunting Retriever Club (SMHRC) test at the Meinheart Property
in Cheltenham, MD:
- Ch Blazin Dunlin Of Tidalflats WC CGC "Lin" and Ch Hillbrook Dory Of Tidalflats CD JH
WC CGC "Dory" passed both Started
tests, ending the day with 1/2 the qualifications for the title. Both girls were
handled by their favorite duck buddy (Cliff) and had a grand time. Not to be
outdone, (4.5 month old) baby sister Selkie also brought all 3 of her birds back to
qualify in the "Beginners" stake. She received a nice certificate and much
applause from the gallery.
- Lightfoot's Eclipse CD JH FCX WCX CGC, "Tanner" is now the proud bearer of
the NAHRA SR title, having gone four for four in started tests. He and his buddy
Brook, (Bertshire's Avalanche, WC,CGC) went two for two in the two tests run today by the
Southern Maryland Hunting Retriever Club (SMHRC) at the Meinheart Property in Cheltenham,
MD. Both dogs got "nice job"s on all four series run.
Tanner and Brook are owned by John and Sandy Bulger and handled in field by the
Bionic man, John!
- CH Allegro's Free Man in Paris WC, "Beau," made it half way to the NAHRA Started
Retriever title by qualifying in two tests at the Meinheart Property in Cheltenham, MD.

in Williamsport, PA:
SR Aspengrove ADK Mr Prsonality CDX JH NA NAJ WC CGC, "Bailey", continued his
agility streak by earning his first Open Standard leg, with a 2nd place ribbon!!
Bailey has made us very proud by placing on each of his qualifying agility runs to date,
including taking 1st place on his NA titling run at the Specialty! He loves
agility!
SR Rainbow Autumn's First Frost JH WC CGC, "Risa", took time out from her amusing role as
"Conegirl", postponing picking up cones long enough to earn her first novice
standard leg! We hope she's setting a new trend of fewer cones and more legs to
come!! :-) Bailey and Risa are loved, owned, trained and handled by Cary and Janet

Tupper qualified in WC and won third place out of about 40
Flat-Coats in Unsteady Singles A. She also qualified in the Open B and Versatility
obedience events.
The following weekend Tupper went Winners Bitch and Best of
Opposite Sex to finish her AKC Championship at the Tidewater Kennel Club
show in Williamsburg, Virginia.
Tupper was handled in breed at both the Specialty and at
Tidewater by Lori Pauley of Norfolk, Virginia.

CH Quillquest Peter Pan, "Sam", owned by George and Saralee
Boteler and handled by Linda Reynolds, came out of hiding for some big fun in
Kentucky at the National Specialty.
Sam took 2nd place in his 7-9 Veteran Sweeps class
under breeder judge Maureen Kolasa, and followed that with another 2nd place in
Veterans 7-9 under English judge Peter Johnson.
Allegro's Free Man in Paris WC, "Beau," owned by Linda and Mark Reynolds and handled
by Linda, got his first major at the CRFCRC Spring Supported entry, going Best of Winners
for 3 points at the Virginia Kennel Club show on April 9.
He also earned his WC title at the Mid-Atlantic
Flat-Coated Retriever Club's WC/WCX test on May 7, and again in Kentucky at
the FCRSA National Specialty. Also at the Specialty, Beau earned a 4th
place in the Unsteady Singles B stake.

in Chesapeake, VA
CH SR U-CD U-AGI Blazin's Back O' The Moon
CD JH NA WC CGC, "Cosmo", earned his first
two CDX legs in his first trials, both with 2nd place (189.5, 189). Also, on the afternoon
of 4/29, at the Chesapeake Dog Fanciers Show, Cosmo took Best of Breed;
and on the afternoon of 4/30, at the Tidewater Dog Performance Club UKC Agility
Trial in Gloucester, he finished his U-AGI title with a score of 199 and a time
of 44 seconds on a 71 second course. What a weekend! Cosmo is owned by Melody Daniels,

both Saturday and Sunday to earned his NAJ title! Bailey earned his title in 3 straight

4/22/00 At the Durham Kennel Club Agility Trial in
Durham, NC
CH SR U-CD Blazin's Back O' The Moon CD JH NA WC CGC, "Cosmo", owned by Melody Daniels, Dawn Buttion
and Marty Archambeault, and handled by Melody, earned his second OA leg with a score of 95
and 3rd place in the Open 24" class. We drove down for just the one class -- 8 hours
of travel for 65 seconds in the ring. Fun!
4/22/00 At the Durham Kennel Club Agility Trial in
Durham, NC
CH Blazin's Dressed To Impress, " Berry", owned by Penny Leigh, Dale McElrath,
Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault, and handled by Dale, earned her first NA leg with a
perfect score and 1st place in the Novice B 24" class. Berry ran the 72 second course
in just 41 seconds, beating a couple of Border Collies along the way!!!
4/15/00 At the Hampton Roads Obedience Training Club Agility

"Gent", earned his his Novice Agility. He won a third place for his third
leg: Yes, not too bad for an 8 1/2 year old!

SR Aspengrove ADK Mr Prsonality CDX JH WC CGC , "Bailey", proudly owned and loved by Cary and
Janet Ciarico, had a GREAT day! Bailey and Cary earned their first NAJ leg in the morning
with a clean run and a 2nd place ribbon! In the afternoon, Bailey was thrilled (as any FCR
would be!) to have the opporunity to run agility in the rain, and earned his second NA leg
and picked up another 2nd place ribbon!! Both Cary and Bailey finished the day with BIG
SMILES!!

3/18/00 At the Danville Kennel Club Agility Trial in
Ringold, VA
CH SR U-CD Blazin's Back O' The Moon CD JH NA WC CGC, "Cosmo", owned by Melody Daniels, Dawn Buttion
and Marty Archambeault, and handled by Melody, finished his Novice Agility title with a
score of 95 and 2nd place in the Novice B 24" class!!! At the same trial, Cosmo
earned his first Novice Jumpers With Weaves leg, also with a score of 95.
3/04/00 At the Carolina Retriever Association hunt
test in Fort Mill, SC
CH Blazin's Cill Padraig JH CGC, "Jesse", owned and handled by Beth Garland,
earned his 4th JH leg and the title!!!

2/20/00 At the Maryland KC show in Baltimore,
MD
CH Blazin's Doppelbock WC CGC, "Vita", owned by Scott and Tina Borden and
handled by Tina, won Best of Winners for 4 points to finish his championship. There
is no thrill like finishing a championship on your first dog!!
2/20/00 At the Greenville KC show in Greenville, SC
Quillquest Band Plays On CGC, Bogey, owned by Jane Brumley
and handled by Faith Quade, won Best of Winners for a 4 point major.
2/19/00 At the Spartanburg KC show in South
Carolina:
SR CH Lyric's Kay CD JH WCX CGC TDI, "Katie", won a 4 pt. major! Katie was
handled by Lori Pauly to Winner's Bitch (for 4 pts.) and by her owner Al Jenkins to
Best of Winners over the dog major. This was her last major to bring her up to 19
points and a new title!
BIG Congratulations go to Katie, Lori, and to a faithful
owner, Al!!!!!
2/5/00 At the Conyers KC of GA show in Altanta, GA:
CH Blazin's Dressed To Impress " Berry" , owned by Penny Leigh, Dale McElrath, Dawn Buttion & Marty
Archambeault and handled by Dale, won Winners Bitch and Best of Winners for a 5 point major to finish!!
Berry went on to win Best of Breed at the Lawrenceville KC show on Sunday!!

Dog Obedience Club show in Richmond, VA
CH Victory's Attention On Deck CD SH AX OAJ WCX NAC NJC NGC
HOF, "AtEase", finished her CD to become
the first Victory FCRSA Hall of Fame Flat-Coat. AtEase is a fifth generation HOF dog on
both sides of her pedigree and will be joining her Mom, Aunt Ginnie and cousin Flyer in
the Ring of Honor in KY this May. AtEase is always owner trained and handled by Mark and
Judy Delventhal, Victory Retrievers.
1/29/00 At the Wallkill KC show in
Middletown, NY
CH Blazin's Carpe Diem CD JH WCX CGC "Dino", owned by Scott & Tina Borden and handled by Dawn Buttion, won Best of Breed and Group 3 under
Karin Ashe. It was a good start to 2000!
