In November, "Prue" picked up her 2nd OA leg at the NCBC Agility Trial and finished her *OA* title at the JAG Agility Trial. Prue also picked up her 1st two AXJ legs at the JAG Agility trial. "Piper" also picked up her 1st and 2nd AXJ legs at these two trials. |

"Eagle", Ch Salasana Double Arrow CGC, won Best Of Breed at Gloucester County KC, Middleburg KC, Penn Treaty KC, National Capital KC and Upper Marlboro KC. He ended the year with a Group IV at the Upper Marlboro KC. Not too bad for a 21 month old boy!! Eagle is owned and loved by Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault.
"Cosmo" at 9.5 years continues to play show and obedience dog for fun, this fall winning Best of Breed at the Warrenton, Old Dominion and Mispillion KC shows, and placing in Veterans obedience both days at the Merrimac trials with scores averaging 190. Always owner handled, Ch SR SHR U-CDX U-AGI Blazin's Back O' The Moon UD JH AX NAP NJP WCX CGC TT HOF is ranked #13 FCR by Canine Chronicle for all dogs defeated year to date through Oct., and is ranked Pedigree #1 FCR Top Producer through Sept.! Cosmo is much loved by Melody Daniels, Cecelia Butler, Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault. |

"We are very happy to report that our "Skiff" has been pretty successful this year. He finished his Championship in August with 4 majors after very limited showing and completely out of the Bred-by Exhibitor class. At that point he went back to the field to finish up his JH at the PVGRC tests in October. He is now: *Ch* Tidalflats' Sea Skiff *JH* WC. Sister "Selkie" picked up her fourth major in July and is now only 2 points away from finishing her Championship. We are very proud of both of them."
"Reggae", Ch SR TLC Shalyn's Rhythm O' The Island CD NA NAP NAJ WC CGC, earned her first Open Standard leg and second Open Jumpers leg, with two first place ribbons and no faults and the only dog qualifying in the 24" jump height! Reggae is owned, loved, trained and handled by Sherri Lilley. |

"Brook", Ch Bertschire's Avalanche CD NA *NAJ* SH WCX, earned 2 legs to finish her Novice Jumpers with Weaves title! She is owned by John and Sandy Bulger, and handled by John.
Tina Borden and "Vita", Ch Blazin's Doppelbock *UD* JH AX OAJ WCX, qualified for their third leg in Utility A to earn the UD title! He earned his second leg at Hyattsville DTC trial in Beltsville MD on Sept 19th, and his first leg was at Talbot KC on August 13th. Tina writes: "We're so glad and relieved that the two years of training have paid off in this way. Vita is now eligible for the FCRSA *Hall of Fame*, that silly boy!"
Janet Ciarico writes: "Our girl "Libby", Riversong's Dream Catcher Am/Can WC, continues her streak of ribbons earned in the field by earning her second Junior Hunter leg this weekend! That's 2 JH legs, a Canadian WC title and American WC title all in 4 weeks time! We're very proud of her and look forward to her continued hard work and success!" Libby is loved, owned, trained and handled by Janet and Cary Ciarico.
"Zu", Ch Victory's Bravo Zulu CD SH MX *MXJ* WCX, earned his 10th MXJ leg finishing his MXJ title! A great run, handled by good friend Sue Drazek as Kate was unable to run. Zu is owned by Chris and Kate Hutchinson, trained and normally handled by Kate. He's a heck of an agility competitor! Good job Buddy!
"Risa", Ch Rainbow Autumn's First Frost SH CDX WCX CGC *Can WCX*, handled by Janet, earned her Canadian WCI and WCX titles at the Flat-Coated Retirever Society of Canada's National Specialty. At the Specialty, Risa ran 3 tests (WCI, WCX and MH) over 2 days and did a super job! She went out on the 3rd series of the Master Hunter test . . . the *10th* series in 2 days proved to be too many (whew!), but we were very, very proud of her work!! Risa is owned, trained, handled and loved by Janet and Cary Ciarico. |

"Libby", Riversong's Dream Catcher, in her hunt test debut, earned her first Junior Hunter leg at the GPLC hunt test on Sunday the 29th. She showed great style, earning perfect scores (10s) on all marks and accolades from the judges. We expect to have alot of fun with this girl! Libby is owned, trained, handled and loved by Janet and Cary Ciarico.
"Shayla", Shalyn's Not Just a Pretty Face *CGC*, bred, owned and trained by Sherri Lilley, earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen title and passed the Therapy Dog International test, at 9 months old.
"Shayla", Shalyn's Not Just a Pretty Face, bred, owned and handled by Sherri Lilley, took Winners Bitch for two points each day. She now has 10 points at eight months. On Saturday her mother "Reggae", Ch SR TLC & Shalyn's Rhythm of the Island CD NA NAP NJP WC CGC, owned and handled by Sherri Lilley, took Best of Breed over other male and bitch specials.
"Dancer", Quillquest's Leading Lady CGC, owner handled by Penny Woodward, took 1st place in the Senior Puppy Stakes! This was the benefit sponsered by Tidewater Retriever Club to raise money for a permanent retriever training and trailing ground here in VA. (Congratulations, Dancer!)
At the Upper Marlboro KC show on July 3, "Sky", *Ch* Salasana Blazin Arrow, won Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Of Breed for a 4 point major under Walter Sommerfelt, finishing her Championship!! Sky was handled to Winners by Dawn and then handled to Best Of Breed by her Junior buddy Alex. At the Catoctin KC show, Sky's brother "Eagle", Ch Salasana Double Arrow, won Best Of Breed under Carol Brown. In Juniors, the team of Alex and Eagle placed 3rd in the Open Senior class. They looked great and Eagle's tail never stopped wagging. Sky and Eagle are owned by Dawn Buttion & Marty Archmbeault and Eagle is co-owned with Alexandra Bialozor. |

"Brook", Ch SR Bertschire's Avalanche CD *NA* SH WCX, earned her first agility title on Saturday! Then she qualified again in Novice Standard on Sunday. She has entered three 2-day trials (6 runs) and earned her 4 legs with 3 first places and a third, and 2 perfect scores. Brook is owned by John and Sandy Bulger and handled in agility by John, who is most proud! Brook also has one leg on her NAJ.
"Cosmo", Ch SR SHR U-CDX U-AGI Blazin's Back O' The Moon UD JH AX NAP NJP WCX CGC TT HOF, won Best of Breed both days, and a Sporting Group II on Saturday! He is owned by Melody Daniels, Dawn Buttion and Marty Archambeault and handled to his recent Group placements by Melody. "Shayla", Shalyn's Not Just a Pretty Face, won Best of Winners for 2 points from the Bred By Exhibitor class at seven months, for a total of six points and only her third time out; her mother "Reggae" Ch SR TLC & Shalyn's Rhythm of the Island CD NAP NA NAJ WC CGC, won Best of Opposite Sex. Both only showed on Saturday, owned and handled by Sherri Lilley. "Lily", Shalyn's Wildwood Flower, *CGC*, took first place from the 6-9 month class both days and earned her CGC as well. Lily is owned and handled by Anne Fisher and bred by Sherri Lilley. "Dancer", Quillquest's Leading Lady *CGC*, owner handled by Penny Woodward, was Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex for 2 points on Sunday, and earned her CGC title at the same show!
Bill and Monica Stephens are thrilled to announce that "Archer" (*Ch* Light-Foot's Robin Hood WC), finished his Championship with his second Best of Breed win. The previous weekend, he qualified at the Susquehanna Retriever Club Junior Hunter test for his third JH leg. Good luck on that final leg after the move . . . we will all miss you! |

"Tink", SR Claymore's Tinker Bell CD JH CGC, owned by Peter Alea and Al Jenkins, took WB two of the four days and RWB the other two days for a total of four points from the Open class.
"Hannah", Homeport Passage to Riverwind, won her first point going WB and BOS under Judge Kathleen Patterson. Hannah is owned by Cheryl and Buzz Beach and handled by Cheryl.
Several Capital Region members, with and without dogs, made the long journey to California to attend the National Specialty. A great time was had by all, and our Capital Region dogs sure did us proud!
"Brook", Ch SR Bertschire's Avalanche CD SH WCX, earned her second Novice Standard leg, owner handled by John Bulger! This closely follows Brook's first MH leg, and she's planning lots more hunt tests and agility trials in the next few months! Congrats to Sandy, John and Brook!
"Risa", Ch Rainbow Autumn's First Frost CDX SH WCX CGC, handled by Janet, began the hunt test season in a BIG way, picking up back-to-back master hunter ribbons! The first ribbon, came at their first test of the season, Apr 17-18 at the Rappahannock River Retriever Club test. They followed May 1-2 with a ribbon at the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac test. This brings their total number of passes to 3. "We're having a great time and look forward to upcoming tests this summer and fall!" Risa is owned, trained and handled by Janet and Cary Ciarico.
"Quest", Ch Skywalker Galaxy Quest CD *SH* WCX, passed his fourth straight Senior Hunter test for his title!! Joan Bensen writes, "Wow, what a ride this past month has been!". I guess so, Joan! |

"Franklin", Maple Manse Stayman Rules *FM* CGC, earned his Flyball Master title (5,000 points)! Janet Boss writes, "He also got to go for a midday swim at the pond at that location, only to find out a few days later that a snakehead fish had been caught just 2 days after his swim!"
During the last month, "Quest", Ch Skywalker Galaxy Quest *CD* *WCX*, has been doing well at all endeavors:
"Vita", Ch Blazin's Doppelbock CDX JH *AX* OAJ WCX, finished his AX title at the Canaan Dog Club of America trial on April 17th in Leesburg, VA. He finished 11 seconds under time and took a blue ribbon in his height class! Tina writes, "You should've seen his weave poles . . . they were surprisingly fast and beautiful. It was a zen moment, which doesn't happen often for us :)! He is now, my Super dog!"

It's been an awesome Spring 2004 for "Gracy", SR Banquo's Strikes Our Fancy *CD* JH *WCX*. On April 11th, Gracy qualified in BOTH WCX tests of PVGRC's double WC/WCX tests! The past few weeks have brought Sandy and Gracy BIG successes! At the Dog Owner's Obedience Trial on March 14th in West Friendship, MD, Gracy's tying-for-third-place-score (out of 45 dogs!) earned her the third Novice A leg and her Companion Dog title! At CRFCRC's Fun Match two weekends later, Gracy earned High in Match (regular classes), with a score of 196.5 in Novice A obedience, AND Best Pet in conformation. In the CRFCRC Supported Entry on April 4th at the Chesapeake Kennel Club Obedience Trial in Prince Frederick, MD (amid tornado warnings, a tornado warning delay, high winds, rain and cold - yes, outdoors obedience competition!), Gracy took first place in her class (with a decent score of 192). They came home with High Flat-Coat In Trial honors as well. They're looking forward to doing just as well in next-level obedience trials and hunt tests this fall!
"Shayla", Shalyn's Not Just a Pretty Face (Dino x. Reggae), bred, owned and trained by Sherri Lilley, made her puppy debut at the CRFCRC spring fun match held March 27, 2004 at the Oriole DTC building in MD. She won her 3-6 month puppy class and then went Best Puppy in the match! |

"Zu", Ch Victory's Bravo Zulu CD SH *MX* AXJ WCX, earned his MX title on Saturday, March 13th at the Greater Louisville Training Club four day agility trial. Zu earned a total of 6 legs at the 4 day trial, 3 legs in standard and 3 in jumpers. Zu is owned by Chris and Kate Hutchinson and is trained and handled by Kate. Kate writes, "His effort at this trial was outstanding and it was a thrill to run with him!"
"Gracy" has earned her first obedience title in great Flat-coat style, and is now SR Banquo's Strikes Our Fancy JH WC *CD*. (Flat-coat style? That would be exemplified by the full 3-minute display of Gracy's 180-degree-tail-wagging effort displayed during the down-stay exercise, offering cause for Sandy's 3-minute say-a-little-prayer effort! "I'm looking for fun, Mom, so watch out!") At the "Dog Owners" obedience trial at the Howard County Fairgrounds, on Sunday, March 14th, Sandy and Gracy earned their third novice leg for Gracy's CD title. Of the 45 dogs competing in the class, Gracy's score of 188.5 earned her a tie for a third-place standing, and a run-off opportunity for a placement. Although they didn't come away with a second ribbon, it was a great day! |

"Dina", Ch SR Quillquest Dinamite JH WCX Can WC, went BOS at Westminster KC last Tuesday, Feb. 10th. Dina was handled, bred and owned by Gillian Impey, who writes, "You can see a picture of her on the MBF website infodog.com Westminster results. She will be getting her steak this week-end!!"
